Join the LAFD Historical Society Team

There are so many reasons to join the Los Angeles Fire Department Historical Society. We’re a key part of Los Angeles culture now - from Hollywood to San Pedro. We own remarkable artifacts that bring the history of Los Angeles and the LAFD to life.


We are looking for energetic, interested and responsible individuals to help us grow our museum facilities and to assist in the restoration of Old Fireboat #2, the Ralph J. Scott. If you are an outgoing individual who enjoys working with people, then we’re looking for you. All LAFD Historical Society volunteers must be 15 years of age or older. You must be willing to commit to a minimum four hour shift and to a term of at least eight weeks. We provide the training, lunch, and the experience of a lifetime. Bring history alive.
