Children, At-Risk Youth, & Seniors
And, believe it or not, you're more likely to die in a fire or accident at your home than all other forms of tragedies combined! The Los Angeles Fire Department regularly responds to fires in homes that were preventable. Rescues of elderly people or children often end tragically. Nothing can ruin your day like a fire that had no business being allowed out to do its nasty business. In Los Angeles, single family dwelling fatalities are a primary area of safety focus. Your LAFD wants you to be safe and we're joining in that effort with programs designed specifically for you. The key to reducing your chances of injury or premature death is in education. The more you know, the safer you'll be. We are concerned with delivering key education messages to children and their families, at-risk youth, and seniors. FOR CHILDREN AND FAMILIES

The LAFD Historical Society is committed to education. We're very excited to share the fire and life safety program developed by MySafe:LA called FireSmart:LA. It's just one of our education initiatives, and we invite you to become a part of the 2010 program! Click here to learn more. |
