Responding to Fire
The Los Angeles Fire Department responds to more than 1,000 emergency calls every day. Today, more than 80% of those calls are emergency medical calls (EMS). Still, on an average of once a day, a significant fire breaks out in Los Angeles. Fighting fire has become a sophisticated and nearly military-like process. You can learn what it is to respond to fire by reading some of the accounts posted here and in the section on Famous Fires in Los Angeles.
