Fire Safety Comes to Your School!![]() Los Angeles, the second largest city in the United States, represents one of the most challenging urban communities in the US relative to public safety. The danger from fire, flood, earthquake, and terrorism makes LA a cocktail mix of threats. At particular risk are children under the age of 14 and seniors. MySafe:LA and the Los Angeles Fire Department have teamed up with the LAFD Museum & Memorial to deliver an important public safety message: "Get FireSmart:LA!" The FireSmart:LA campaign delivers a combination of public awareness and education using media to a specific group of people living in LA: children 5 to 14 years of age, as well as families. The two target groups make up 23% of the population of Los Angeles. When the MySafe:LA team visits your school, they'll bring Los Angeles firefighters with them.
